Endorsements

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan is the voice of Michigan Planned Parenthood and patients. As part of our commitment to ensuring women and families have the quality, affordable healthcare they deserve, we are sharing our 2018 General Election Endorsement Guide. This guide is based on information we gathered about candidates running for elected office. We reach out to all candidates and request their responses to our candidate questionnaire.

We use the questionnaire to identify pro-choice candidates to endorse in the primary and general elections. We also consider voting records when evaluating incumbent endorsements.

Our election guide helps cut through the noise and give you the best options for candidates that will support family planning decisions with medically accurate information, access to contraceptives, sex education, and safe, legal abortion.

Solidarity Sponsorship

Our Solidarity Sponsorship program invests in local organizations that support access to community resources including reproductive health care, sex education, LGBTQIA services and other services that support human rights. The unrestricted sponsorships range from $250-$1,000. Sponsorships are funded by a special initiative from Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan and administered through the leadership of the Black Organizing Program.

Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan understands that we must move in solidarity to achieve true reproductive justice for ALL people. Together, we can collectively break down the systems of oppression standing in the way of reproductive justice.

SisterSong, the leading reproductive justice authority in the country, defines reproductive justice as the human right to maintain personal bodily autonomy, have children, not have children, and parent children in safe and sustainable communities.
