Emily received a B.A. in English with a minor in Women and Gender Studies and Sociology at Oakland University. After graduating, she moved from her parents’ log cabin oasis in St. Clair County to Detroit where she pursued a career in education by serving as an AmeriCorps member with City Year Detroit at Osborn High School. Emily’s passion for feminism and women’s health issues led her towards a different path, however, and she made her way to the PPAM team after organizing a Detroit grassroots group, Michigan Clinic Escorts, and canvassing with Community Outreach Group for the 2016 election.
She served as PPAM's Detroit Community Organizer until 2019, when she was promoted to Program Manager.
When Emily isn’t working, she enjoys taking long, sweaty bike rides, hunting down Detroit’s best chicken wings, and hanging out with all of her dog friends.
