David Sanchez serves as the Director of Government Relations for PPAM, leveraging his extensive experience in government affairs, community engagement, and effective organizing strategies.

David’s broad range of experiences has given him a deep understanding of the political landscape. His work in critical areas such as immigrant rights, labor organizing, political campaigns, and working for elected officials has allowed him to achieve progressive policy wins throughout his career. David started his advocacy work in 2015 at Detroit Hispanic Development Corporation, where he spearheaded community engagement initiatives and developed strong partnerships with governmental leaders.

His background spanning multiple areas of focus also includes roles as Immigrant Rights Coordinator at Michigan United, Constituent Services Coordinator for Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence, External Organizer for SEIU Local 1, Coalitions Director for the MI Democratic Party Coordinated Campaign, and Constituent Services Director for State Senator Mary Cavanagh. He currently serves on the board of directors for Latin Americans for Social and Economic Development (LA SED).

Outside of work, David likes to spend time with his family, taking his children for walks to the park, going to the movies to see the latest animated family film, and he always looks forward to holiday gatherings and birthday celebrations with his large extended family.
