Our reproductive freedom in Michigan
is at stake.
In 2022, Michigan voters came out in record numbers to add protections for reproductive freedom by passing Proposal 3. Michiganders also elected pro-reproductive freedom majorities in both chambers of the legislature for the first time in nearly 40 years. With this slim majority, our leaders have made incredible progress in protecting and expanding access to abortion and other reproductive health care.
Yet if anti-abortion politicians take back the majority in the Michigan House of Representatives, they would take away our reproductive freedoms and undo everything Michiganders have fought for.
Learn where Michigan's State House of Representatives District 27 candidates stand on health care and reproductive freedom before you turn in your ballot by November 5.
Rylee Linting will work to ban abortion.
Rylee Linting is endorsed by the anti-abortion group Right to Life of Michigan and works for Turning Point Action, a far-right group with an anti-abortion agenda.
If elected, Rylee will take away our reproductive freedoms and destroy everything Michiganders have fought for. At no point should the personal opinion of a politician like Rylee Linting have a say in medical decisions between a person and their doctor.
Jaime Churches will protect and expand abortion access.
Jaime Churches is a proven leader and sexual and reproductive health champion. After Michiganders came out in record numbers to protect reproductive freedom, Jaime co-sponsored the law that officially removed Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban from the books.
Jaime also voted in favor of the 2023 Reproductive Health Act, which repealed many of the harmful restrictions that made it harder for Michiganders to access abortion care. Additionally, Jaime has demonstrated her commitment to Michigan’s LGBTQ community by co-sponsoring legislation to protect LGBTQ people from discrimination in the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act (ELCRA).
Jaime Churches is the only candidate in this race who we can trust to protect our reproductive freedoms and fight to expand access to sexual and reproductive care in Michigan.
