Amy Belfer

Amy Belfer serves as the Associate Director of Field Organizing at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan. Amy is a social worker with a passion for community organizing and policy. They have spent seven years engaging in advocacy on issues including Reproductive Justice, LGBTQIA+ rights, immigration justice, and racial equity. After graduating with their Masters of Social Work with a focus in community change from the University of Michigan, Amy served as the Reproductive Justice Education and Outreach Manager at Michigan Voices, where she led a statewide coalition around Reproductive Justice with approximately 50 community partners. In this role, Amy also helped to pass Proposal 3 (the Reproductive Freedom For All ballot initiative in 2022), and advocated for the passage of the Reproductive Health Act. They also have a passion for youth organizing, and worked with Neutral Zone’s Washtenaw County Youth Commission, serving as an adult advisor to teens working to address issues in their communities.

Amy aligns her work with her values of collaborating with communities to create sustainable change and promote collective liberation. They are a firm believer in the power of grassroots organizing, and looks forward to collaborating with their colleagues to continue to build and strengthen PPAM’s member base.

During their free time, Amy is part of an LGBTQIA+ choir, plays in a queer kickball league, and cuddles with their dog (Matzah) and cat (Milo).
