Tenia Denard

Southeast Michigan Regional Community Organizer

Pronouns:
she, her

Tenia serves as the Southeast Michigan Regional Community Organizer. She graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in Psychology. Starting as a youth specialist, Tenia worked her way up the ladder in the Child Welfare field until leaving in 2021 to focus on assisting adults. Tenia loves staying mission driven and began working with homeless populations and operating workforce and community development. Organizing with Planned Parenthood seemed like a logical next step as it combines her love of working with people with community organizing around a very critical issue — the right to personal choice in health care. Here at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, she is beyond excited to develop new relationships and deepen existing relationships within Southeast Michigan and reengage with volunteers for this worthy cause.

In her spare time, Tenia enjoys traveling, trying new restaurants, seeing new places, and continuously seeks knowledge. Tenia is also a certified DEI professional and a mediator. She loves to help people solve problems whether big or small, and is looking forward to putting her experience and passion into solving issues in Metro Detroit and beyond.
