Pronouns:
she, her

Alexa is the BOP Program Organizer. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 2021 with a degree in Women and Gender studies and communications. She fell in love with Black feminist research practices, especially intersectionality, and made it her mission to find ways to incorporate those concepts into her work and her community. Here at Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, she is beyond excited to develop new relationships and deepen existing relationships within the Black Community, amplify Black voices, and partner with reproductive justice organizations and community leaders.

Alexa has previously worked in our Ann Arbor health center as a health care specialist (medical assistant) and has seen first hand how the legislature can and does affect reproductive health care. She is happy to be back and ready to help, listen, and support.

When she’s not working, she spends time with family and her beyond spoiled pup Missy. She’s a birth and postpartum doula, an artist, and a MasterChef fanatic. She loves to cook almost as much as she loves to try new restaurants.
